Introduction
When you visit the website www.brugmann-conseil.com (hereinafter the “Site”), cookies are placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone.
This page helps you better understand how cookies work and how to use the current tools to configure them.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that may be placed on your device when you visit a website. A cookie file allows its issuer to identify the device on which it is stored, for the period of validity or storage of said cookie.
The term cookies is to be understood in the broad sense and covers all trackers placed and/or read, for example, when visiting a website, reading an email, or installing or using software or a mobile application.
Some cookies are essential for using a site; others make it possible to compile visitor statistics, optimize the site and personalize the content displayed.
A cookie does not personally identify the user; however, it records information about your computer’s browsing on the Site, such as the pages you have visited and on which day and at what time.
Who places cookies?
Cookies on our Site may be placed by Brugmann Conseil or by third parties.
The cookies placed by Brugmann Conseil essentially allow us to ensure the technical operation of the Site and to compile traffic statistics.
Cookies placed by third parties are essentially related to the operation of the Site.
Only the issuer of a cookie can read the information it contains.
Below, we inform you of the purpose of the cookies we are aware of and of the means available to you to make choices regarding these cookies.
How and why do we use cookies?
We use several categories of cookies, whose purposes are described below. Under no circumstances are these cookies used to collect personally identifiable information (such as your name, for example).
1. Cookies necessary for the technical operation of the Site
These are cookies essential for browsing the Site, which allow you to use its main features. Without these cookies you will not be able to use the site normally, so we advise you not to delete them. These cookies are placed exclusively by Brugmann Conseil.
2. Cookies that allow us to compile traffic statistics
These are cookies that allow us to understand the use and performance of our site, and to compile statistics on traffic volumes and on the use of the various elements of our site (content visited, browsing paths), helping us improve the relevance and usability of our services. You have several ways to manage your cookies. You can choose to disable these cookies at any time. You can accept or refuse them on a case-by-case basis, or refuse them systematically once and for all.
Depending on the type of cookies you wish to disable, you can express your choice:
1. Through your browser settings
Most browsers accept cookies by default. However, you can decide to block these cookies or ask your browser to notify you when a site tries to place a cookie on your device. To change how your browser handles cookies, you can modify the settings in the privacy tab. Please note that some features of the Site may then no longer work. Each browser is configured differently. The configuration is described in your browser’s help menu, which will show you how to change your cookie preferences.
2. Through an opt-out tool for cookies used to compile traffic statistics
Tools exist for many browsers to disable the cookies placed.
