With Renault and Nissan for more than 20 years, Alain served in key financial positions in New York, Paris and Tokyo, including: President of Renault Capital Development in the USA, Head of Merger and Acquisition in France and CFO of Nissan in Japan.

Alain played a major role in building up strategic agreements such as the joint venture with Avtoframos in Russia, the purchase of Dacia in Romania, the sale of Renault Trucks to Volvo and the acquisition of the Benetton Formula 1 team.

Alain was instrumental in forging the strong alliance between Renault and Nissan and was responsible for all financial aspects of these negotiations. Alain initiated and negotiated the purchase of Samsung Motors he also financially engineered Renault’s 25% equity investment in the largest Russian auto manufacturer: AvtoVaz Lada.

Alain served as Renault’s Senior Vice President Finance and member of the Renault Management Committee; He also was President and CEO of the Renault Formula 1 team.

He was later appointed Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee of Nissan Motor Company in Tokyo. He focused the Group on worldwide cash generation and helped steer the company, debt free and financially sound, through the worst financial and economic crisis ever faced by the automotive industry.

Before joining Renault, Alain spend 10 years as corporate banker at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York and Paris. He is currently President of Dassas Consulting, a Financial Advisory Firm in Paris and a member of the Board of Altarea Cogedim a leading French real estate Group.

Alain graduated from École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris. He holds a Master in Economics, a postgraduate degree in Econometrics from Paris University and a Master in Management Science from Stanford University.
