Laurent starts his career with Bouygues Group in 1994 as internal auditor of all group’s business lines (construction, real estate, media).
He then joins Vivendi Group and is involved in the creation of its Internal Audit Department. In 2001 he is appointed adviser to the CEO of Clemessy, which has just been acquired by Vivendi, and manages Clemessy’s integration within Vivendi. He is also in charge of the financial issues of the external growth projects.
In 2002, Laurent joins Cegelec as Head of Audit Department upon the first LBO. Based on an in-depth analysis of the underlying business-model and its operational issues, his actions notably comprise : analyse of under-performing units with subsequent action plans, review of quality of earnings, review of internal process efficiency with corrective action plan, cash management improvement. His team is also involved in the external growth projects (identification of risks and synergies, validation of the business-plan, valuation of the targets, post integration plan follow up).
In 2010, Laurent founds Brugmann Conseil in Brussels together with Benoît Verron, in order to propose differentiating advisory services in performance improvement by combining Risk and Financial management. Following BC’s successful development in Brussels, he then creates Brugmann Conseil in Paris in 2012 with Franck Laborey and Benoit Verron and completes the range of services with strategic operations (M&A, financing advisory), leading to a unique offering dedicated to entrepreneurs and investors.
