In 1995 Benoît joins SMA Group (French leading insurance company in the construction market) and is in charge of managing the major claims within the Larger Accounts (Eiffage, Vinci, Bouygues).
In 2001, he is appointed as Head of Risk Department of Cegelec, a group with 40 subsidiaries in around 30 countries around the world. He is in charge of managing the group’s risk cover and insurance program : he drastically reduces the insurance costs while improving the cover quality, which is among the key factors of the group’s financial performance improvement alongside the successive LBOs. In close relationship with the other group’s financial departments, he implements the credit insurance part of the securitization program. He is also in charge of analysing the risk and cover of the group’s acquisition targets and materializing the subsequent cost synergies expected after integration.
In 2010, Benoît founds Brugmann Conseil in Brussels together with Laurent Le Bars, in order to propose differentiating advisory services in performance improvement by combining Risk and Financial management. Following Brugmann Conseil’s successful development in Brussels, he then creates Brugmann Conseil in Paris in 2012 with Franck Laborey and Laurent Le Bars and completes the range of services with strategic operations (M&A, financing advisory), leading to a unique offering dedicated to entrepreneurs and investors.
